End User Experience Monitoring

  1. The EUEM fails to generate the following Server Startup event counters upon session reconnection:
    • Session Creation Server Duration (SCSD)
    • Credentials Obtention Server Duration (COSD)
    • Credentials Authentication Server Duration (CASD)

The issue occurs when the Fast Reconnect path fails to send the correct metrics for the reconnection.

HDX Plug and Play

  1. On systems with legacy client drive mapping enabled according to Knowledge Center article CTX127968, unplugging and reinserting a USB device fails to remove the drive originally mapped for the device, and an additional drive is mapped for the reinserted device.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0066]

IMA Service

  1. After running dsmaint recreatelhc to recreate the local host cache, the IMA service might fail to start because the AdMgmtss.dll is enabled in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\IMA\Runtime\CurrentlyLoadingPlugin. Users receive the following error message:

    Event ID: 3601
Failed to load initial plugins with error IMA_RESULT_FAILURE

To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\IMA\Runtime
    Name: AlwaysReadGpoFromDB
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0174]

  2. If the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment\Path is very long, such as 2048 characters or more, and if the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\IMA\RUNTIME\PSRequired is set to 1, the IMA Service might fail to start.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0165]

Keyboard

  1. In sessions using the Receivers for HTML5 or Linux, pressing the Shift key along with symbol keys (for example: [, ], \, ;, , ,, ., /) while the Caps Lock key is in the down state produces the uppercase symbols rather than the expected lowercase symbols.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5363]

Load Balancing

  1. New sessions can intermittently be pointed to the most loaded server, on occasion leading to server overload. This happens even if the target server is fully loaded and servers with a lower load are available.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5521]

Logon/Authentication

  1. Attempts to log on to a server can time out. The issue occurs when the CitrixCSEEngine.exe process becomes unresponsive as a result of an ongoing zone master election. This fix allows you to customize the default timeout of 60 to accommodate longer wait times. To do this, add or edit the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\IMA\RUNTIME
    Name: QueryWaitElectionTime
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: <Wait time, in milliseconds>

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0116]

Printing

  1. Regardless of the Universal Printing EMF Processing Mode policy configuration, Universal Printing EMF jobs are processed on the server. This fix allows print jobs to be reprocessed on the client device.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0057]

  2. The Citrix Print Manager Service (CpSvc.exe) process might exit unexpectedly.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA4967]

  3. The Citrix Print Manager Service (CpSvc.exe) process might exit unexpectedly.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0048]

  4. The Citrix Print Manager Service (CpSvc.exe) process might exit unexpectedly if the value for “printerenum” is not returned correctly.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5936]

  5. The Citrix Print Manager Service (CpSvc.exe) might exit unexpectedly. As a result, autocreation of printers fails.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA4965]

  6. When using the Citrix XPS Universal Printer driver to print a Microsoft Excel document, each Excel cell of the spreadsheet is printed as a single page, causing multiple pages to be printed. The issue occurs when modifying the page layout (“Printer Properties” > “Layout”) on the Citrix UPD screen.

To enable the fix, set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\Print
    Name: dmFields
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 0x00000010

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5228]

  7. If printing policies are set to “Auto-create generic Citrix Universal Printer” and the “Universal driver preference” is set to XPS, when opening a photo by using Photo Viewer and choosing Generic Citrix Universal Printer, Photo Viewer might report an error and fail to print the image.

Important: Installing the Universal Print Server client on systems where this fix is installed effectively invalidates this fix. The issue occurs because installing the client on top of this fix reverts a binary that is modified by this fix to an earlier version. If you install the client on top of this fix, reinstall this hotfix rollup pack after installing the client to regain Fix #LC0060.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0060]

Seamless Windows

  1. If the “View window contents while dragging” policy is set to “Prohibited”, certain borders of the seamless application window might be hidden while dragging.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0111]

Server/Farm Administration

  1. When replacing files on a mapped client drive within a Receiver session, the original date and time stamp are replaced with the latest date and time stamp.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0131]

  2. When custom administrators or administrators with view only permissions log on and then run the command “Get-XAServer -OnlineOnly,” an error appears.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0081]

  3. Hotfixes can be listed twice and can be missing product information in the hotfix inventory list of AppCenter.

To enable this fix, you must run:

    • dscheck /full HotfixFolder /Product /silent (to list the hotfixes without a product name)
    • dscheck /full HotfixFolder /Product /Clean /silent (to update the hotfixes with product information)

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5852]

  4. The Reboot Schedule Randomization interval policy might fail to work with provisioned XenApp servers.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5167]

  5. The MFCOM.exe process might experience a memory leak with the following error message while using ServerName in the discovery process:

“Errors occurred when using ServerName in the discovery process”

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA4698]

  6. If attempting to export data from a third-party database application to an existing Excel .csv file, the original file is not overwritten and the new data appends to the existing data at the end of the file.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5238]

  7. The Windows WMI namespaces and the Citrix WMI namespaces are not present in the WBEM repository.

After installing this fix, you must add the following Manage Object Format (.mof) files in the directory – %systemroot%\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\system32\Citrix\WMI:

    • citrix.XP10FR3.mof
    • citrixProv.XP10FR3.mof
    • metaframe.XP10FR3.mof
    • metaframeProv.XP10FR3.mof
    • mgmt.XP10FR4.mof

After adding the .mof files in the directory, edit the registry to add the path of the .mof file at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM\autorecover mofs.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5716]

  8. The load balancing policies are not consistently applied for published applications. This can cause disconnected sessions that are not compatible with the configured load balancing policies to reconnect.

For example, if the load balancing policies are configured on client1 and client2, when launching a published application session from client1, the session is launched on one server of the worker group1. If the session is disconnected and the same session is relaunched from client2, the session gets reconnected instead of launching a new session on any server of worker group2.

To enable the fix, set the following registry keys:

    • On 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\IMA\MFRPC
      Name: AlwaysEvaluateLBPolicy
      Type: REG_DWORD
      Data: 1 (to enable)
    • On 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\IMA\MFRPC
      Name: AlwaysEvaluateLBPolicy
      Type: REG_DWORD
      Data: 1 (to enable)

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0086]

  9. Attempts by read-only administrators to run the qfarm /online command fail.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0030]

Session/Connection

  1. With the application instance limit set to “1” per user, attempts to launch a published application are sometimes rejected even if the same user does not have another instance of the application running. The following error message appears instead:

“The Citrix server has reached its concurrent application limit for this application. Please contact your System Administrator.”

Note: The descriptions of fixes #LA5354 and #LC0102 are identical. However, they address slightly different underlying issues.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0102]

  2. .wav files of audio recordings made with third party published applications can contain intermittent sound gaps.

This fix is enabled by default. To disable it, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\Audio
    Name: SimpleCaptureBuffering
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5828]

  3. When resizing a reconnected session with a Citrix policy in place to prohibit session wallpaper and a Microsoft group policy in place that specified a wallpaper, the Citrix policy is not honored.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0115]

  4. If the policy “Limit user sessions” is set to “1,” and the policy “Maximum allowed color depth” is set to “16 bit,” attempts to start the same published application more than one time might fail with an instance limit error.

With this fix, the session sharing between the existing and the connecting sessions is allowed without an instance limit error.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5588]

  5. This fix address issues where Microsoft Excel based applications are displayed in the taskbar when they should not and might exit unexpectedly when closing instances of Excel opened by those applications.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0040]

  6. On systems with Hotfix Rollup Pack 3 installed, a new desktop session can be started from the icon in the Web Interface, even when the setting “Restrict each user to a single session” in Terminal Services is enabled.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5911]

  7. If the setting “Allow only one instance of application for each user” is enabled for any application in AppCenter or the Web Interface, when users open the application for the first time, the following error message appears:

“Citrix server has reached its concurrent application limit for this application”

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5465]

  8. A deadlock in picadm.sys can prevent servers from accepting new client connections.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA1261]

  9. With the application instance limit set to “1” per user, attempts to launch a published application are sometimes rejected even if the same user does not have another instance of the application running. The following error massage appears instead:

“The Citrix server has reached its concurrent application limit for this application. Please contact your System Administrator.”

Note: The descriptions of fixes #LA5354 and #LC0102 are identical. However, they address slightly different underlying issues.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5354]

  10. When launching Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe) in a seamless session, the application window might fail to take focus.

The issue occurs because of the use of Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE). To stop using DDE, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\SFTA
    Name: LaunchBrowserNoDDE
    Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1 (Currently any value has the same effect as “1”)

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5455]

  11. If the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\UncLinks\UNCEnabled is set to DWORD = 00000000, attempts to import Microsoft Excel objects into other applications, such as WordPad, can fail with the following error message when the source file is located on a mapped client drive.

“Microsoft Excel cannot access the file.”

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA4978]

  12. The Windows task switcher displays a seemingly incorrect number of Internet Explorer windows running in a session. The issue occurs because hidden parent windows of published instances of Internet Explorer appear as distinct items in the task switcher.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5282]

  13. Attempts to launch a published application can fail. The issue occurs when the logon window that prompts users for authentication is mistakenly hidden. The logon window is hidden when the Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration is set to “Always prompt for password.”

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5872]

  14. If SpeedScreen Latency Reduction is enabled and the published instance of Microsoft Internet Explorer window is resized, the content or graphics fail to refresh.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5386]

  15. Servers can become unresponsive with Event ID 7011 and might stop accepting new connections. When this occurs, administrators cannot log on to the XenApp server console.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA4741]

  16. This fix addresses a Time Zone Redirection issue as described in Knowledge Center article CTX140011 for sessions running on servers with Microsoft Hotfix KB2870165 installed.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5507]

  17. In sessions on systems with Fix #LA2830 installed, attempts to unzip zip archives on mapped client drives fail.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5054]

Smart Cards

  1. When reconnecting to a disconnected smart card session, the smart card certificate fails to be propagated to the local store.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5656]

System Exceptions

  1. A null pointer can cause the servers to experience a fatal exception that appears on a blue screen with bugcheck code 0x0000003B.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5613]

  2. Not responding to a Citrix Receiver Security Warning dialog box when attempting to access a mapped client drive in a session can cause other users’ session to become unresponsive if they are using the same published application in their own sessions.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0092]

  3. Servers might experience a fatal exception, displaying a blue screen, on PICAVC.SYS.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5727]

  4. Servers might experience a fatal exception, displaying a blue screen, on picadd.sys with stop code 0x0000003B.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5785]

  5. This fix provides general compatibility improvements with Microsoft updates.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0110]

  6. Servers can experience a fatal exception on ctxdvcs.sys.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5606]

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5329]

  10. The Citrix Audio Redirection Service (CtxAudioSvc) might exit unexpectedly.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA5412]

  11. In sessions running on systems with Fix #LA5053 installed, attempts to create folders with names in excess of 255 characters can cause Windows Explorer to become unresponsive.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0061]

User Experience

  1. Even with the “Remote the combo box” policy set to Allowed in AppCenter, the remoted combo box can fail to display on iOS devices.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA3404]

User Interface

  1. This fix addresses the following issues with the way applications are represented in the Receiver for Windows taskbar:
    • Individual applications can display the default Receiver icon instead of the application-specific icon.
    • When multiple applications are running in the same session, they can appear grouped under a single, default Receiver icon.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0094]

  2. After unlocking a desktop, some application icons might not be updated correctly in the taskbar, and the default Receiver icon is displayed instead of the application-specific icon. Further, some applications’ names might appear blank in Connection Center.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LC0029]

  3. Attempts by Mobility Pack users to save a Microsoft Excel or Word file as a file type other than .rtf (default) fail because choices for other file types are disabled.

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R04][#LA3665]

Miscellaneous

  1. Even if the Remote the combo box policy setting in the Receiver Mobility Pack is enabled, the elements or values of the combo box with blank labels fail to appear.
