I noticed that going in the Downloads section of the new release of Citrix XenServer 5.6 of available downloads appears VPX version of Virtual Appliances for Citrix License Server!

Until today to install the Citrix License server we needed a Windows 2003/2008 Server (physical or virtual), I always wondered why, with the help of virtualization, no one had thought to create and support a VM with this ad-hoc functionality.

Ubuntu 4.10 LTS Lucid Lynx

The day 29 April 2010 Canonical has released the new release of Ubuntu 4.10 named Lucid Lynx.

The new version is kind of LTS (Long Time Support) and will be supported for 3 years and 5 years in the variant Dekstop Server version.

As usual, I proceeded to update via the 'Advance version and (allows you to upgrade the operating system and all software installed without reinstalling).

Also this time the procedure took 3-4 hours to have the system ready and working perfectly, because the server Canonical strongly stressed for the massive upgrade from many users.

Only note, as usual, having previously installed the proprietary ATI drivers I had to install the new version ( ATI Catalyst ™ 4.10 ) to upload.

Important Safety Update for Exchange 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2010 (SMTP)

Patch Day for Microsoft Exchange hotfix released for versions 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2010.

The security issue that affects versions of the above exchange is described in Microsoft MS10-024 : discovering the flaw could allow denial of service if an attacker sends a series of DNS responses to the SMTP service.

Those who have the Exchange server is not exposed to the Internet through the SMTP service (port TCP/25) can feel comfortable, even if advised that the update (GFI Mailessential or other software download POPtoExchange help us in these situations without exposing the Server attacks!)

  • Security Update for Exchange 2003 SP2 (KB976702)
  • 10 Update Rollup for Exchange 2007 SP1 (KB981407)
