Disponibili nuovi ATI Catalyst™ 10.7 Proprietary Linux Display Driver [AGGIORNATO]

Come ogni mese, eccoci al consueto appuntamento del rilascio da parte di ATI/AMD della nuova release dei driver ATI Catalyst, versione 10.7.

Solitamente con le nuove release vengono corretti i bug scoperti nelle precedenti versioni e viene aggiunto il supporto alle nuove distribuzioni linux.

Vediamo insieme quali sono le novità:

Nuove Funzionalità

  • ATI Eyefinity support

Support for New Linux Operating Systems
This release of ATI CatalystTM Linux introduces support for the following new operating system:
Ubuntu 10.04 production support
openSUSE 11.3 early look support

ATI Eyefinity support
ATI CatalystTM 10.7 delivers support for ATI Eyefinity technology under all supported Linux distributions.

Ecco invece la lista dei problemi risolti:

  • Applying display rotation using CatalystTM Control Center or XRandR no longer causes display to turn blank with mouse cursor
  • Disabling the primary display in clone/dual-head mode no longer causes CatalystTM
  • Control Center not to launch after X restart
  • CrossFireTM can now be enabled properly on the first Gemimi card under a 2 Gemini multi-adapter configuration
  • Xserver no longer fails when applying “Maintain Aspect Ratio” option from GPU scaling at maximum resolution
  • [SUSE] Desktop corruption no longer visible after applying rotation using CatalystTM Control Center and restarting X
  • Enabling a second ASIC without a monitor connected no longer causes black screen and X window not launching when startx is executed
  • [Ubuntu 10.04] X segmentation fault no longer occur at startup on multi-ASIC systems
  • CatalystTM Control Center: Gamma control changes no longer affect the wrong display in clone mode
  • Switching to clone mode by pressing Fn+F4 now functions properly after connecting an external VGA monitor
  • X-window no longer fails with some ATI card plugged in NV’s C51 IGP board

AGGIORNAMENTO: Ho eseguito il download e l’installazione sul mio portatile VAIO, TUTTO OK funzionano alla perfezione. Questi driver beneficiano della certificazione per funzionare con Ubuntu 10.04, tutto è più reattivo e veloce.
